I have a gain of 1kg this week. Maybe it is the weather?? I knew that I would be likely to gain back something from last week's effort, but I demand a recount. Wednesday is normally my worst of the week, due to regular Tuesday night pub going and wedges eating.
Never discourage anyone...who continually makes progress, no matter how slow.

kathrynoh wrote:Weight this morning = 79.9 kgs. That's a GAIN of almost 3 kgs. How does that happen? Sure there were some cake incidents this week but surely not enough to put on that much! Other than that, the eating and exercise have been good. It's not like I'm chowing down on a family size chocolate every night!

I'm putting in a formal complaint as soon as I work out where to lodge it.

ummm..i have a couple of days a month where i seemed to have found 2kgs from nowhere..and then they go away!my weight often fluctuates during the week.. just stick with it

..i dont really want to post my weight..cos whilst it looks like it is a good week...i know its only fake and i will put on weight as soon as i resume solids..so it will look like im rubbish next week :(

ok here goes..

at 60.5kg which is 1.6kg weight loss(not real tho) so total 2.9kg..(im thinking its more like 61.5 real terms)

i will be happy next week if i only put on 1 kg of that

deege..if its the same day every week..it doesnt matter if its the worst day..cos its also the original weigh in day

Em...maintaining is all good

Jay..sometimes when i start up at gym i put on weight and then it just normalises..the clothes thing really is a better guide..eat well exercise well and it will happen

lee..the buckle down attitude is a good one!

mph.. well done 2.8 kg is a good loss

Goodness - it must be "weight gain week"!! Gained 1.0 kg this week, at least there is no mystery as i always said i was prone to emotional eating and have proven it again this week!

Have also proven that it is NOT a good idea to go grocery shopping on a Monday after work when hungry, tired and v.p'ed off with the world. Have ALSO proven that my theory that consuming an entire 10 PACK of banana paddle pops doesn't count when the universe should surely ignore the slip up when it was a rightful reaction to being dumped- is a CRAP theory!!!

The good news is (confession time here) is that the "old me" would have allowed myself to slip into many weeks of self harm via eating and up to a 10 kg weight gain. The "new me" gave myself 3 days and is now well and truly back on the wagon and motivated to post a good loss for next week! :D

ohhhh.joey ..it seems like you had a horrible week! but it sounds like you are back on track now...i too got dumped last week and may have been prone to an emotional binge if it wasnt for the fact that i had to eat mush for a week. hopefully this is a much better week in evey aspect for you.

HUGS!

Oh noes... all this talk about mystery weight gain is scaring me for my weigh in tonight :( I might have to rest my gut on the towel rack when I'm on the scales to cheat a little

It's good to see the positive attitudes of everyone. A bad week isn't the end of the journey... lets keep going forward!

I've stayed the same too. Had a strange week, half of it has been very good (salads for lunch etc) the other half bad (pizza and beer for dinner etc).

Well what a strange week in weight loss land!! As Deeg said and reminds me of that old ad, "It could be the weather!" - or maybe it's just that hey we are all human and weight loss is in reality a journey and it aint a flat road - it's a kinda bumpy one at times!! Also as i have said before a lot of you don't have a heap to lose so results will not be super quick or easy to achieve....so to maintain or have a small loss or gain is ok as long as it heads in the right direction eventually.

Congrats to MPB and RJR on loss this week, RJR even if you think it's a false result this week, it's a result all the same, so go with it! - if you have a good week ahead i reckon it could/should stay off. Thanks for your kind words BTW, yep sounds like we both had a crappy week, but what can we say about those boys but NEXT!!

Well done to Em, SJ and Smoggie on the maintain, bit frustrating to not head downwards i know but in this case at least "better not down than up!"

Few of us in the "up basket" this week, at least we are not alone!! Particularly frustrating for those that don't understand why such as jaykay and Kathryn, guess all you can do is keep plodding away and hope it "all comes out in the wash" with a nicer number next week...

Still waiting on the results of sams towel rail experiment!.....

Best of luck to everyone for a great week ahead - i had a funny day at work today, so if anyone wants a laugh check out my post on Last Shout (maybe you had to be there, but give it a go!) A good laugh really helped me put things in perspective and press on with the challenge, lets face it, we are all probably much healthier than we were ten years ago and the fact that we are even TRYING to improve our health is to be commended! :D

PS Sorry for rambling post, trying to distract myself from EATING!!

Funny, I would have put beer and pizza in the "good" basket and salad in the "bad" :?

no loss this week, but no gain either, which I am happy about given I have had to easy back off the running due to a case of shin splints, have not run for almost 2 weeks, so for the first time in about 20 years (since I had no other food options but Mum's cooking) I have actually practiced some sort of self discipline with my eating. No sausage rolls, a couple drinks on the weekend was just that 2!. So I think reporting in each week to this thread is having a positive effect on my self control when it comes to food & Grog.

I forgot.

The cakes we ate last night (well it was my birthday) so i guess that can count for the weight gain!

After this 6-8 weeks i will have to continue with this. Looking back i apparantly lost 10lb in 6 weeks by just giving up drinking coke and eating crisps

Well done Supersam, good comeback. Imagine how much more you could have lost had you "rested your gut" on the towel rack, pmsl! :D

theres no reason we couldnt cntinue it on after the 8 weeks..im sure some people would be keen to join...or just keep an eye on in order to maintain..

i know i wouldnt mind..if i get to my goal of sub 60..i will be having to pay attention in order to maintain..i can be a bit naughty..

wow SAM..7.5 kgs  .. normal behaviour.. lets see..is there an emoticon for if you were drinking the drink would have snorted out your nose cos you were laughing so hard

Hi all,

Have been very quiet over here contemplating my ever expanding navel....Wondering if I will ever get back on track.

Well I'm proud to report that finally the mind, body and spirit all had a meeting and decided to work together for a change....Especially the mind it just wants to do what it wants to do and that's it!! :?

So after a week and a bit I've finally lost 1 kg. Very happy about that. :D

What did send me into a little spin this afternoon was a friend reporting that in 8 weeks she had lost 8cm from her waist and 17cm in total from other parts. What got me was that she has been to bootcamp training twice a week but has been eating badly the entire time. Here's me slogging out at the gym and running 4-5,sometimes even six times a week and was gaining......Sometimes life just isn't fair

Can we over do it? My body does seem to be holding onto fluid at the moment. Normally when I eat properly and exercise the weight and cm's come off without too much pain. Any how hope everyone has a good week. Without too many "incidents" RJ
Do the thing & you will have the power

I am ashamed to say that I am now +2kg from when I started this challenge. The trips away, birthdays, and a distinct lack of training over the last couple of weeks are to blame.
