April Km's: 122.5

Year to Date: 450.5

Injuries: The usual shin probs along with a hip niggle and dodgy knee saw a few more rest days than I would have liked

Excuses: None

Upcoming races: GTR and SMH Half Marathon

Goals for May:
Get close to last years time at GTR if not beat it, get stuck into longer runs again and increase my k's without injury

General thoughts:
Very happy to be in triple figures again, it really has taken me way longer than I would have liked to get back into running injury free but I'm really happy with the little base I've built back up. I'm also happy to take things easier and listen to my body

April kms - 300.7 (Last month - 306.1, April '06 - 292.3 )

YTD - 1093, Last year - 893

Races - R4K 15.2kms? (probably less) 58.14, Richmond/Malvern Challenge 8kms 31.47, Maroondah Dam 30 (31.8kms, done as a training run) 3.14.10, AV XC Relay 6km 23.37

Races for May - 5th - Richmond club race 5km, 6th - GTR 13.2kms, 13th - AV 15km Road Race, 26th AV Sandown 10km Road Race. Also on the 20th tossing up between a Coburg 12km, or a VMA 10000m track race.

Injuries - Slight calf strain which slowed me down in the XC relay, and made me cancel a couple of planned runs Evil or Very Mad

Excuses - None.

Goals - Get injury fixed so that I can get back into the long runs to prepare for GCM. Break 60min for the 15km, and PB and Sandown (current 10km PB 38.54).

General thoughts - Don't get complacent with the training, and never assume you will not get injured. Last week I was in great form, everything falling into place, and all my PB's were looking soft. This week, well.....

April Km's: 278 (last year 247)

Year to Date: 1093 (last year 712 & 803 in 05)

Injuries: Recovering from strained lower back & small tear in hip, now just managing a tight lower back

Excuses: none really, but have been rebuilding from lay off

Races & events: AV Round One 6km XC Relay, ran the 4th leg in 25:01. Attended a 2 day ATFCA Level One Coaching Course.

Upcoming races: AV Winter Round 2 & 3, 15km & 10km

Goals for May: Race well

General thoughts: Very surprised to be more than 200km in front of last year and even still 2005. A lot of easy kms have been run but I do feel my endurance is better and think I will race well in May.

Weight & measurements: Tomorrow I will include my weight (need to weigh at a chemist) and will buy a measuring tape to record waist, chest, thigh, biceps & calves. Will complete these monthly.

Edit: bugger, you would think I would have learnt how to proof read!!! Embarassed

Oops - ran 177km this month.

Happy with the mileage, and the overall pace I'm running, but it seems my eagerness to find a habit again has led to a niggle.
Fortunately its under control, but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Of course with GTR coming up, so is my annual cold Confused hopefully it disappears or hastily retreats by Sunday.

April k's - 133 (March 180)

YTD - 568

Injuries - ITB, R knee (still un-diagnosed)

Excuses - see above

Events - R4K 76.01

Upcoming races - Williamstown SC HM (pending recovery)

Goals - Recover from current niggles and get back out there. Try not to let the negative thoughts get me down as I cut back on the training for the time being. Stay focussed on my original plan - a solid Melb HM later in the year.

April km's - 199 (Apr 2006 - 159 km)
- would have squeezed in another km if had know I was that close to 200 Rolling Eyes

YTD km's - 598 (YTD 2006 - 348 km)

Injuries - still a few niggles but "don't mention the war" Embarassed

Excuses - none

Races - none

Upcoming Races - Unfortunately none at this stage with my son's junior footy commitments (I'm team manager) kicking in on Sunday mornings, makes it hard to find any. I had thought about skipping a week's footy and making a weekend of the GOR Half but decided not ready for a half just yet, especially not a 'hilly' one Wink

Goals
- Continue to run 5 times a week where possible and keep building up the km's > still considering the full MM'07 Question Question
- Find some events on a Saturday??
- keep increasing long run's

doogal - most of the AV races are on Saturday afternoons, as is Coburgs Bluestone classic in June. Next AV race on a Saturday is Sandown on May 26, probably the fastest 10km course in Vic. The Bluestone has a 7km or 15km option. It starts off with 3km on the aths track, followed by 4kms on the bike path. For those doing the 15km you then head off for a tough 8km XC. Highly recommend this one.
So a couple of options there for you.

Thanks for the info TB Smile

Unfortunately I have another committment on May 26th, besides I'm not sure if I'm ready (read capable) of mixing it with the AV lads just yet Embarassed

I will keep an eye out for the Bluestone classic at Coburg though if that is on a Saturday Wink

April km's - 92.3 (9 Runs)

YTD km's - 368.7

Injuries - none

Excuses - renovating & moving house - not that i'm into excuses but it took a major chunk out of my month!

Races - none

Upcoming Races - SMH Half, May 20

Goals -
*Post some decent numbers over the next week or so before entering into a 7-10 day mini taper
*Break 1.47.39 in the SMH half, going under 100 mins if possible
*Run three times in the week following the half - which has always proven difficult if not impossible in the past ... if i'm going to give the Sydney Marathon a crack in September I want to be back into a program by the first week in June!

First time i've posted in this thread and can I just say the numbers you guys regularly post are inspirational to say the least!

I attempted to calculate, and I realised I wrote in every single entry "sore". And even with many, many, rest days, still buggered, sick and sore. Sad

April:
240 minutes across 7 runs (approx 39.6km)

That's with week one off, and week four off basically. Improved from March lots though!

March: 181 minutes across 8 runs (approx 29.9km)

April kms - 291 km ('06: 363km)

YTD - 1293 km ('06: 1508km)

Injuries - Inflamation in L ankle joint

Excuses - Um... one week off injured, then another week coming back carefully

Races - Run for the Kids (DNS: Dandy Ck Dash, AV XC Relay)

Goals/Upcoming races - Puffing Billy, AV 15km, AV 10km

General thoughts - started a bit slower this year, though have had a couple of injuries, which haven't helped. After 3 years of consistent development, new that I needed to be careful this year as in the past after 2 or 3 years of progress, I've always fallen into the trap of pushing too hard and collecting a significant injury.... maybe older and wiser?

April k's - 256 Crying or Very sad .

Year to Date - 1366. .

Injuries - None.

Excuses - Much lower month than I would have liked (needed?!?) only 2 months out from the Gold Coast.
Lost vital miles and, more importantly, long runs and Yassos due to moving house and lots of family stuff.

Races - Will run the Mother's Day Classic. If I can run a little faster than last year, I may still have a crack at the 3:20 marathon. At the moment though, 4:45k's still feel a whole lot less comfortable than they need to be in July.

Goals - Increase the pace of the long runs. Try to maintain some discipline so as not to miss any speed sessions. Try not to panic.

April kms: 204 kms

Injuries: none Very Happy

Races: Canberra Marathon

Upcoming races: Canberra Half in less than two weeks

Goals: Work on my speed now that the marathon goal has been achieved. Spend more time cross training - touch and netball.
Keep motivated in the colder weather - rather stay in my warm bed.

UPCOMING RACES - Mothers Day classic and GOR marathon but not racing just as a long training run in preparation for Gold Coast 6 weeks later

EXCUSES - hmmm.....uni, kids, work, I can make anything an excuse Wink

GOALS - survive GOR alone (no JK for company Crying or Very sad )
