Day 2 and going well with the food so far! Can't add in much (well any) exercise at the mo. due to injured ankle which may affect results unfortunately, but at least this is motivating me to be extra good with the food!

Went for a massage and facial tonight which was beautiful (it would b.well want to be at $170   ) and tried to think of this as a reward/comfort rather than what i would usually use for this (food) - still, couldn't help thinking how many packs of comforting tim tams i could've bought for $170!!

The weekend will be the real challenge/danger zone so gearing up to stay strong for that one - love the idea of a wednesday weigh in - gives a couple of days to make up for any weekend slips...which of course there won't be will there joey so the point really is (should be) moot....

Great there are so many of us that have jumped on this challenge, should make for a good "support group" for us all - hope everyones "week one" getting off to a good start! :D

So far so good. Went for a run this morning, before breakfast, thats good isn't it. Then i had some oatibix, don't know if you have that in Australia, but its wholegrain and supposed to release energy slowly, just had a banana.

Back at work tonight which can be my downfall sometimes sweets are on offer, bad food, bad drinks

At this point I am a spectator only for this thread. However I can relate to some of the salient points raised, such as: the tendency to reach for that fridge door a tad too often if one is feeling down in the dumps for some reason.

On the positive side I have noticed lately that my penchant to eat everything available to me at a mealtime, or to clean the plate up as it were, is being questioned. Obviously there is no need to fill up to pussy's bow every time I eat. So now leftovers can go to the two pet rats, also known as vacuum cleaner buddies because nothing to them is verbatim. They know better than me when to switch off eating .....I've seen fat obese cats but not fat rats.

Ok.

Weighed myself yesterday morning - 76kg. Would like to round down to 70kg, but unrealistic for me in the time. Target therefore 4kg.

I also did the body fat last night, so I've got a couple of measures to look at, just in case one doesn't move in the right direction!

Haven't exercised much this week (sore foot after intervals on Tuesday). With takeaways/eating out last week, and a wedding tomorrow, the first week will be slow!

For once, hubby and I have planned our meals for the week ahead, so in theory, there should be no excuse.

Gorgeous fish dish last night, courtesy of Jamie Oliver. (Ok - hubby, not Jamie, made it) Served only with veg., I actually enjoyed something healthy without feeling deprived.

well im still having the stupid fish and chip craving i have had since thursday.....so i went and bought some nice fresh flake for later..better option..

bit concerned that the doc said on this medication i would have an 'increased appetite' that doesnt bode well..

i have done a little unofficial weigh in today..and i think(barring any weekend blowouts) that i will have lost weight next wed(that should help me to stay focussed)and why are crisps on special at COLES..again ..

hope you're all having a good day...

In my previous post I have incorrectly used the word 'verbatim'. The word I had in mind is 'verboten', a german word which hasn't yet migrated to English dictionaries. Mrs Malaprop would be sympathising with me right now.

Similar to crisps being on special I went yesterday to Clints Warehouse in Ringwood. It is closing down in about a week and there are a few bargains such as chocolate bonbons going at ridiculously low prices. Now I have large number (too embarrassed to state the exact number) of bonbon packets which I must only stare at until after next Saturday's race at Sandown.

end of week weigh in

still 74 kg

went Ok with food until last night, went out for tea had steak with vegies (no chips) which was Ok , but as per usual the kids did not eat all their meal so extra chips, chicken nuggets, pizza etc, plus ice cream.

went to bed feeling pretty bloated, tried to justify it to myself as carbo loading for this mornings 12 k fun run at coburg!

Why is it so hard to eat healthy on the weekend?

Friday night = Poker + Pizza

Sat night = Club Presentations + Pizza

Sun morning = Fun Run + Sausage sizzle

Better get my act together. It's a shame to waste it after eating well during the week.

Our first child-less weekend in almost two years, coupled with the fact that today is the official diet kick-off day meant that the entire weekend was a write-off food-wise. Movies (pop-corn), a couple of meals out and a last supper of fettucine carbonara last night

Not a great start.

Same problem here I'm afraid!! I am so focused during the week and then the week-end comes and even though I am still focused my will power is zilch :?

Thankfully, I have just realised I did first weigh-in on Tuesday so I think I may weigh in on Wednesday as organised here so I can try and redeem myself

mightypieboy, if I had a childless week-end, I am afraid I would be doing exactly the same!! Start fresh today

its always harder on the weekend...that's why i wanted the weigh in to start mid week..as lee said..gives you time to redeem yourself

and sometimes when other people cook dinner for you...you cant exactly say..thats not in my food plan!! i guess i couldve just had one piece of garlic bread :P

.. dont know what my excuse is for 2:30 am maccas on sat pm

anyway...back on track today...

just think .... if you werent doing this challenge..you would still be doing what you are doing on the weekend without all the 'being good' during the week..so its still an improvement!

No doubt the same excuse I used for a breakfast of pastie with sauce and a can of coke on Sunday morning

OMG... I haven't had a pastie in years! I'm really wanting one now. Maybe I could make a healthy version - after all the innards are all vegies.

I make my own pasties so I know what's in em. Mostly according to my Gran's recipe. Now I am having a craving for them.

I guess I won't be successful this week either.

My first Aussie Wedding on Saturday. They had a free bar, and I didn't want to be rude by refusing.

Sooooo ill on Sunday. Changing name from beetroot face to sicky pants.

So hangover food - beans of toast & copious amounts of OJ. Went to one of the posh cinemas last night where you order food for mid film. Luckily, the turkish bread was so greasy, I couldn't eat it.

Little exercise since last week - been feeling rough, with potential diagnosis of stomach ulcer (thought hubby had been poisoning me  ) so painful that it hurt to run.

Anyhoo, feeling better this week (other than achey knees! Shoot me now)

so will hopefully get back into it.

In a way, I feel better that others have the same struggles. It seems less insurmountable, somehow.

Ok have faced and conquered 2 major challenges in the last couple of days! Number one - the weekend - got through unscathed without ONE bit of junk - yay me! Number two - went out for dinner tonight and chose soup followed by a greek salad with 2 diet cokes- when i REALLY wanted the pizza with salami followed by mars bar cake washed down with hot chocolate!!- yay me again! If i can hold it together tomorrow i am actually looking forward to weigh in on wednesday! (can't believe i am saying that!) Hoping to have a cracker of a week one to give me a buffer zone in the following weeks - is that the wrong way of looking at it?!

Well I am concentrating on working hard towards the weigh in tomorrow, knowing that the rest of the week will be a write off with Hub's 40th birthday extravaganza. Theoretically I should be able to get through it while maintaining healthy choices, but aiming to maintain only.

I've been reasonably good since last week, but its my wedding anniversary today so that will of course involve eating out and alcolhol. It could start going downhill from here.

deege..that sounds like a plan.. maintaining and making making healthy choices with a couple of treats..have a great weekend...

smoggie..happy anniversary..enjoy the night... there are of course healthier eating out options..

im not expecting weight loss this week(after a sneak peek today) but as long as i havent put on as this week was always going to be tough with NO exercise and medication which increases your appetite D'OH

first week is always tough..apparently 21 days is when things become a habit .....

just remember if you fall off the wagon..just get straight back on! thats what im doing....

I fell off the wagon, tried to catch up and climb back on board only to be wiped out by the next wagon following closely behind the first.
