Polar F4 watch

Postby Kat can run » Tue Jun 01, 2010 12:27 pm

This question is not running related, but I have had my Polar F4 watch with heart rate monitor for a couple of years now. I wear it all the time for running and gym workouts. I know the watch is water resistant to 50m. The question is can I wear the watch & chest strap in the water and will it work if I swim laps - will it measure heart rate and calories burnt in the water? Or to make it more running specific - If I were to do pool running?

The HRM won't work properly, the water will interfere with the data.

I tried wearing my Polar HRM when I was deep water running but the readings were all over the place.

Thanks Em. Didn't want to try it if it wasn't gonna work.
