Newspaper reports saying I was seen running along the Tan with Katie Holmes are not true ... it was Tom Cruise, apparently

Just having my morning coffee and flicking through the paper and I see a familiar happy face on page 6 of The Age, especially good going considering how cold and wet it was yesterday!

If that is too cryptic here is the link - http://www.theage.com.au/national/rebuilding-marysville-step-by-step-20090927-g7q3.html

Also spotted that pic in the big paper... from the smile I'd say either it was very early on or he didn't go the full journey... ;)

Good PR is all about timing..... yes I was only running with the Doc for a short time, mainly to act as a short term distraction during his very long day.

Laughs were about how silly / cool it was to be running along the main highway with a CFA fire truck escort 8) We stopped at Lilydale CFA for some photos & as we were discussing where to take the guys to get over the Chirnside Hill, where there is very little space at the edge of the road, the CFA guys asked if the Doc wanted an escort. So from Lilydale to Croydon North the Doc was able to run with comfort between the 2 fire trucks right on the road. Just lucky the Age photographer turned up, the Doc was saying that it would be great publicity & that even if he had tried to 'book' the escort it would probably have been impossible.

Got to say it was the first & last time I'll get to do something like that - great fun.

Support the Marysville Marathon if you can, the Doc is doing huge amounts of work to get the festival up & running....
42.2km is just the warm-up

Spotted Michelle, resplendent as always, in her blue running dress, running alongside the Yarra this morning (Sunday). I was riding with a friend in the opposite direction.

Todays MM highlights featured both Rupert and Rohan in the background while Kerryn McCann's family was being interviewed.

I will be putting it on youtube along with all other people that I recognised.

Who else did you see?

I haven't seen the ad or got the email.

I did try to get in the Nike "run yourself ugly" campaign, but I think I was overqualified.

Today's Herald Sun on page 4 shows Max Markson as a Bingle beau (not really) and he looks as if he could lose a few kilos of body fat.

Spotted at the intersection of the Yarra and Koornung trails this morning: PJ, scoffing jelly beans mid-long run.

A fairly accurate description. One jelly bean just doesn't cut the mustard.

Just noticed my pic at http://www.aura.asn.au/TanUltra.html inaugural 2008 Tan Ultra start line, with the adidas long sleeve top, black beanie and white gloves looking at my wristwatch. I wouldn't mind giving it another crack this year after staggering back from Gold Coast.

JH, oncoming along Dandy Creek Trail Bayswater today travelling at a similar pace to moi. I must confess at this point I had only covered about 600m at this pace. Some exuberance had crept in towards the end of a longish run and I had decided to squash it with 2km of fartlek.

I swear I don't know what you mean PJ - that was actually me doing my cool-down. You should have seen me earlier!

Looks like I got that one wrong JH. My pace at that time was 4:10 which would have been a fartlek pace.

En route back to Mt Evelyn about 9km out along the Warby Trail today, I passed WOOH (Wombatoutofhell) heading east and then about 4km from Mt Evelyn I passed Mrs WOOH, also heading east.
Today's out-and-back Warby Trail course turned around at the 16W, but what the hell, next time I'll probably turn around at the 12W.
